Perspective Makes All The Difference

SEEING:

“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”  But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”  And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.””  ‭‭ Numbers‬ ‭13:30-33‬ ‭‬‬

THOUGHTS:

Those ten spies... and the whole motley crowd that joined them in their unbelief ... LOST their future.
Whenever we look at ourselves in relation to the ground God wants us to take, we see . . . small.
Faith dies when we lower our eyes.
Their words are so telling!
“The LAND devours EVERYTHING”
AND
“ALL the people we saw are GIANTS.”
Exaggerating with the ALLs and ONLYs and NEVERs hints at a whiny 😫 “I don’t wanna do it, it’s too hard!”

NATURAL OR FAITH FILLED?

This is our natural default.
Faith requires Spiritually-minded eyes.
The story hints at the reality of the broad road and the narrow road. Many more see with natural, worldly eyes. They fail to believe God, fail to see with faith eyes.
But PRAISE GOD, one faithful person with God is always a majority in advancing His will.
May we be like Joshua & Caleb and not shrink back from the battle. ⚔️ 🛡
God, increase our faith! Help us always look beyond our circumstances to Your promises. Amen.
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in ALL things at ALL times, having ALL that you need, you WILL abound in every good work.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬
This is ALL we can bank on!!
don't miss a thing
